Frequently asked question

What is the difference between CSP and CR in France?

The CSP (Carte de Sejour Pluriannuelle, or multi-year residence permit) is a residence permit valid for 1 to 4 years, renewable, that allows you to live and work in France. The CR (Carte de Resident, or resident card) is a long-term residence permit, valid for 10 years and automatically renewable, offering greater administrative stability. While both pathways require passing the civic exam, the format and content of the test are identical. The main difference lies in the eligibility conditions and the duration of the permit obtained, with the resident card representing a more advanced step in the integration process.
