Drapeau tricolore

The tricolor flag -- blue, white, and red -- is the national emblem of France, enshrined in Article 2 of the Constitution. Its origins date back to the French Revolution: blue and red are the colors of the city of Paris, while white traditionally represented the monarchy. Their combination symbolizes the union of the people and the king, and later the entire nation. The tricolor flag is flown on public buildings, embassies, and during official ceremonies. It accompanies the President of the Republic in all official functions and represents France internationally.
Example

On July 14, Bastille Day, the tricolor flag flies on all public buildings and parades down the Champs-Elysees during the military parade.
